Peter Obi: Nigerian Democracy Suffering, Now Transitional Politics
Akure, Ondo State – November 11, 2024
Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed concerns about Nigeria’s democracy, stating it is “suffering” and has become “transitional politics.”
Obi, speaking at a rally for the party’s governorship candidate, emphasized the need for collective involvement in rebuilding the country. He urged voters not to trade their votes for inducements.
“We must build a new Nigeria where everyone has equal opportunities, children are in school, hospitals function, and people are lifted out of poverty,” Obi said.
The Labour Party’s governorship candidate, Sola Ebisen, echoed Obi’s sentiments, highlighting the party’s potential to transform the state.
